Operational Focus
One of the three main components of OCAM’s Corporate Management Software Solution is the Operational Focus.
The Operational Focus is all about providing users with the necessary information they need in order to coordinate and execute their daily tasks and responsibilities.
User Pain Points
Users can't tell which Tasks in their inbox are the most critical.
Among the different Tasks, it is not easy to differentiate which ones need direct action and which ones are there for a supervisory role.
The Problem
The current Operational Focus shows a crowded list of Tasks. The list does not provide clarity to users.
Solution
To redesign the Operational Focus so that it can provide clarity of action to users right from their first look at it.
Design Approach
The different kinds of Tasks must be easily distinguished from each other.
Color code all Task types and display them as charts.
The system must tell users when a new Task has entered their inbox, or if there has been any updates on the existing ones.
Implement notifications in order to let the user know what has changed since the last visit.
Results
Users are now able to get a rapid snapshot of their workload by looking at the colored chart.
The implemented drill down logic enables user to focus by filtering first by the different kinds of Tasks and then by their expected action (To Execute, To Supervise, or To Archive).
After deploying the redesigned Operational Focus, we tracked its usage and it doubled in less than a month compared to the data collected before launch.
Clients also expressed their satisfaction with the new version of the software.
